MODEC Tapped for Gato do Mato FPSO FEED
MODEC Inc. will handle the FEED for an FPSO for Shell Brasil Ltda.’s Gato do Mato development offshore Brazil, MODEC announced April 1.
The Gato do Mato FPSO will be moored in 2,000 m water depth. MODEC will be responsible for the design of the hull and all related topsides facilities for the FPSO, which is projected to be moored by a SOFEC Spread Mooring system. Produced stabilized crude will be stored in the FPSO tanks and the oil will be offloaded to shuttle tankers to go to market.
PTTEP Awards McDermott Kikeh Contract
McDermott won an offshore transportation, installation and commissioning contract valued at approximately $40 million from PTTEP Sabah Oil Ltd. for the Kikeh subsea gas lift project offshore East Malaysia, McDermott said on March 27.
McDermott will remove the existing flexible gas lift riser and install and commission a new dynamic riser section and flowline comprised of two thermoplastic composite pipe jumpers. This will enable gas delivery to a subsea production system tied back to the Kikeh FPSO, McDermott said.
Project management and engineering for the deepwater project will be executed from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, with support from other McDermott offices.
PTTEP operates the Kikeh Field on behalf of partners Petronas Carigali and PT Pertamina Malaysia Exploration Production. The Kikeh Field has been producing from the existing Kikeh FPSO since 2007.
ONEgas Extends Petrofac Services Deal
ONEgas West has extended Petrofac’s contract in the Southern North Sea, Petrofac said on March 28.
ONEgas West, a venture operated by NAM (Nederlandse Aardolie Maatschappij) with partner Shell U.K., awarded the two-year brownfield engineering, procurement and construction contract extension to Petrofac. Under the extension, Petrofac will continue to provide services across ONEgas’ Southern North Sea portfolio, supporting the Clipper South complex, Leman Alpha assets, Bacton Terminal and ONEgas Barge campaigns.
Silverwell DIALs up Services Offshore Nigeria
Silverwell Technology Inc. announced March 27 it won a contract from a major operator offshore Nigeria for its digital intelligent artificial lift (DIAL) gas lift production optimization system.
Silverwell estimated that using DIAL will enhance the net present value of each well by up to $50 million over their lifetime. The DIAL technology is being installed in shallow water oil wells in the Gulf of Guinea and will be operated from an unmanned production platform.
DIAL integrates in-well monitoring and control of gas-lift well performance with surface analytics and automation to continually optimize production, remotely and without well intervention.
